Drawing out the Fear.
The actions of James Holmes were so devastating that I couldn't get it out of my head. It made me wonder about the fears that may keep some people from driving down a street in the ghettos, to walking down a dark alley, to getting on a plane... to going to the movies? FEARS. I can't quite judge those who are cautious about getting on planes, or now going to the movies, some are just more thick skinned then others. Some people are more sensitive and cautious, while others more care-free and out going. For me personally, it depends.
But I realized that once I had studied James's face and sketched it out on paper, some sort of pressure was immediately lifted. I'm thinking of drawing all the faces of those who scare me.

Mixing it Up.
These couple of pages have some celebrity drawings whose birthdays are in February. I still have the goal of drawing a celebrity birthday for everyday in a calendar year. Sometimes these will pop up randomly in my sketchbook. I like to have my sketchbook to be intermixed with personal items, events in my life, a continuing array of personal goals, and whatever else might pop up. The idea is that one day far from now I can look back on these books and think, "Oh yeah, I was working on this goal back then!", but then a moment later, flip a page and think, "Hey I remember that day at the beach!".

Whole Pages
Whole pages are fun. Why break down each illustration piece by piece? I feel it ruins the whole "Sketchbook" feel. I mean, a whole lot more goes into sketchbooking than the drawing itself. There's layout and design, and composition. Perhaps a sketch blog should feel more like a sketchbook, and less like a picture-to-picture slideshow. Plus, this is a much more efficient way to post multiple days' work into one single post.
